rolling as a mighty ocean in its fulness over me:
underneath me, all around me, is the current of his love,
leading onward, leading homeward, to my glorious rest above.

how he loves us, ever loves us, changes never, nevermore,
watches over all his loved ones, whom he died to call his own,
ever for them interceding at his heavenly Father's throne.

Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven, to earth come down,
fix in us your humble dwelling, all your faithful mercies crown.
Jesus, you are all compassion, pure, unbounded love impart;
visit us with your salvation, enter every trembling heart.

Come, almighty to deliver, let us all your grace receive;
suddenly return, and never, never more your temples leave.
We would always give you blessing, serve you as your hosts above,
pray, and praise you without ceasing, glory in your perfect love.

Finish then your new creation; pure and spotless let us be;
let us see your great salvation, perfect in eternity:
changed from glory into glory till in heaven we take our place,
there to sing salvation's story lost in wonder, love, and praise!
How Deep the Father's Love for Us

How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure,
that He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss – the Father turns His face away,
as wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders;
ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life – I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no power, no wisdom;
but I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer;
but this I know with all my heart – His wounds have paid my ransom.
