About Us

St Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe
“God will not reject a blameless person, nor uphold the evildoers.” (Job 8:20)
At Namirembe Cathedral, we embrace God’s promise to honor every sincere heart. Our diocesan theme reminds us that in Christ, no blameless seeker is turned away—regardless of background, status, or past. This truth shapes our commitment to radical inclusion.
A House of Mercy, Not Judgment
No Outsiders: Like Job’s confidence in God’s justice, we reject exclusion.
Worship Without Barriers: Services in English, Luganda, and sign language ensure access for all.
Grace for Growth: We meet people where they are, trusting God to perfect His work (Philippians 1:6).
Community Built on God’s Justice
Job’s story teaches us to defend the blameless—so we actively:
Nurture New Believers: Confirmation Clasees for ages 8 and above.
Stand with the Marginalized: Advocacy for the poor, refugees, and differently abled.
Reconcile Divisions: Healing forums across tribes and generations.
“Our diversity reflects Heaven’s census—‘every nation, tribe, and language’ (Revelation 7:9).”
— The Rt. Rev. Moses Banja
Our Story: A Legacy of Embracing the Blameless
Since 1890, Namirembe Cathedral has been a refuge for those seeking God’s face. Like Job’s friends, we sometimes misunderstand—but like God, we ultimately restore and welcome.
Join us as we live out Job 8:20:
Families: Blended into God’s household through baptism.
Skeptics: Given space to question and discover.
The Hurting: Wrapped in Christ’s healing love.

Our Core Values
Learn more about our values and our story as a church by visiting the about us page.
We value the Lordship of Jesus Christ!
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
We value Bible-centered Preaching and Teaching!
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.
We value Prayer!
We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.
We value Evangelism and World Missions!
We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.
We value the Family!
We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
