Rev. Samuel Muwonge

Rev. Muwonge fulfills a dual role as the Diocesan Mission Secretary and a curate at Namirembe Cathedral. In addition to assisting in worship services, he is responsible for coordinating mission initiatives and outreach programs within the diocese.

Diocesan Mission Secretary
As the Diocesan Mission Secretary, the primary responsibilities include:

Mission Strategy Development: Developing and implementing mission strategies to spread the Gospel and expand the Church's outreach within the diocese.

Program Coordination: Organizing and coordinating mission programs, evangelism initiatives, and community outreach projects to engage with the local community and address social issues.

Support to Parishes: Providing support and resources to parishes within the diocese to enhance their mission and evangelism efforts, including training for clergy and lay leaders.

Collaboration: Working with other diocesan departments, religious organizations, and community groups to promote collaborative mission efforts and maximize impact.

Reporting and Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of mission activities, preparing reports, and making recommendations for improvements.

Curate
As a Curate at Namirembe Cathedral, the primary responsibilities include:

Support to Clergy: Assisting the senior clergy, such as the Vicar and Dean, in their pastoral and liturgical duties, including leading worship services, preaching, and administering sacraments.

Pastoral Care: Providing pastoral care to the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling, and offering support to individuals and families in need.

Youth and Education Ministries: Focusing on specific ministries such as youth programs, Christian education, and discipleship initiatives to foster spiritual growth within the congregation.

Administrative Assistance: Assisting with the administrative tasks of the Cathedral, including organizing events, maintaining records, and communicating with parishioners.

Community Engagement: Participating in community outreach and mission activities, helping to build strong relationships between the Cathedral and the broader community.

In essence, the Diocesan Mission Secretary focuses on strategic mission and outreach efforts across the diocese, while the Curate supports the day-to-day pastoral and liturgical functions within the Cathedral, with a particular emphasis on youth, education, and community engagement.
